The Lecturette, which is part of GTO Tasks conducted on the 3rd Day, is one of the main tests of GTO as it is used to map and judge the different personality traits of the candidates. Lecturette is a personal round in which every candidate has to give a small speech or lecture on a specific topic selected by the candidate. These topics are from diverse subject areas with varying difficulty levels. The procedure of Lecturette at SSB Interview

Let’s know how the Lecturette is conducted at the SSB Interview.

  • First of all the GTO briefs the Group about the tasks and the rules and instructions of the task.
  • Then the GTO calls every candidate one by one, starting from the first or last chest number of your group.
  • Then the GTO hands them a bunch of cards from which they have to choose a card on which four topics will be mentioned.
  • Out of the given 4 topics, the candidates have to select any one topic and inform the GTO about the same.
  • Then the GTO instructs him to go to some nearby place and prepare his speech. They get 3 minutes to prepare their lecture.
  • After 3 minutes, the GTO will call them and they have to speak on that topic for 3 minutes in front of the GTO and the whole group.
  • The GTO once rings the buzzer after 2 minutes 30 seconds to indicate that they have only 30 more seconds to complete their speech. They have to start concluding their topic after this bell.
  • During this buzzer, the next candidate from the group will report to the GTO. GTO will give them a bunch of cards to select the topic and then they are given time to prepare.
  • The GTO double-taps the buzzer after 3 minutes to indicate that the time is over.
  • This process is repeated until all the candidates have given their lectures.

Type of Topics asked in Lecturette at SSB Interview

As informed earlier, GTO gives a bunch of cards from which the candidate has to select one card which contains 4 different topics for Lecturette topics. Out of these 4 topics, the difficulty level of one will be HARD, the next two topics will be of ABOVE AVERAGE to an AVERAGE level, and one topic will be of EASY level.

For Example, 4 topics in a card is
